A farewell to winter...

From a potter's perspective I can relate to the non-skier's plight. The first big storm of the season hit the night of my first pottery home show. A half a dozen people made it out to the show and almost got snowed in there. The next couple of days everything was shut down. Incredibly, my sister made it the next day after weathering the night in a hotel.

In my experience the seasons pass at a speed in direct proportion to their quality. This winter passed more quickly than any winter I have ever experienced, so it must have been the best yet. Snow storm after snow storm buffetted the mountain, the state, the US. While people in D.C. shivered and shook and got shut down we slipped and slided down slopes blanketed in snow. From a ski-patroller's perspective it was a wonderful winter.
